Short bio

Thonimar V. Alencar is Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Federal University of Ouro Preto in Ouro Preto, Brazil. He received his Doctor of Science degree in 2014 from Federal University of Minas Gerais and his Master of Science degree in 2010 from the same university.  His areas of expertise include applications of optical techniques such as femtosecond time-resolved spectroscopy and nonlinear optical microscopy. The main focus of his current research is to investigate the fundamental optical properties of two-dimensional nanomaterials, including van der Waals heterostructures, graphene, dicalcogenated transition metals, etc., and their potential application for electronic and optoelectronic devices.
