I am a physicist working on materials and minerals unique properties at the Federal University of Ouro Preto. It includes a variety of problems on crystal structure disorder, chemical substitution and defects, using diffraction methods, Raman scattering, photoluminescence and microprobe chemical analysis.

My prior postdoctoral work at the University of Arizona and Sao Carlos Institute of Physics revealed the details of rare and new mineral species containing rare earths and other important elements. Also, I worked on chemical and physical characterization of optical materials and nanomaterials with technological applications.
