Eduardo da Silva Ribeiro received the B.S. degree from integrated college of Caratinga (current, Doctum College) in 2007 and M.S. degree from Federal University of São Carlos in 2010, both in Computer Science. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Federal University of Minas Gerais in 2021. Since 2018 he have been working with deep learning, specifically, proposing a distance-based loss function for convolution neural networks. His current research interests include deep learning, computer vision and parallel processing with GPUs.
He is ad-hoc reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transaction on Latin America and Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.
Since 2012, he has been with the Computer and Systems Department (DECSI) at Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), as a Adjunct Professor of Architecture of Computers. In 2016, he was coach of the department's team in the ICPC contest. Before that he worked as lecturer at UFSCar, PUC Minas and CEFET/MG.
